Meet Our Pastoral Staff

Dr. Marty Herron

20130810-PastorsAdmin-205On July 30, 2000, Dr. Marty Herron arrived with his family to fulfill his new duties as pastor of Harvest Baptist Church. For the previous eighteen years he had served at Northland Baptist Bible College in Dunbar, Wisconsin, as Camp Director and eventually as vice-president.

In preparation for full-time ministry, he first attended Western Baptist Bible College. Then he traveled with the Life Action Revival Ministry. Afterwards, he completed a B.A. in church ministries with a minor in speech at Bob Jones University.

He first came to Guam in September 1999 as a Spirit Week speaker to replace his colleague Dr. Sam Horn. During that week he and his wife got a burden for the people of Guam and Micronesia.

He also saw the value of being involved in a pastorate. In January after he returned to Harvest Baptist Church to candidate, the church voted to call him as senior pastor. His desire as he shepherds the congregation is to help people develop a heart for God.

His wife, Tami, had also been involved in Life Action Revival Ministries. During their years at Northland, she taught several Bible and Christian service classes as well as reared their four children, Megan, Misty, Micah and Miles.

Pastor Joe Henson

20130810-PastorsAdmin-184Pastor Joe and his wife Garthea first came to the island of Guam in the 1980’s as missionaries. They labored six years as a mission pastor at Pacific Independent Bible Church. After leaving the church in the hands of other missionaries, the Lord led them to Family Baptist Church in Dededo. They faithfully served in that ministry for the next seven years. In the spring of 1999, the Hensons joined Harvest Ministries. Currently, Garthea is the lower elementary principal, and Pastor Joe counsels, teaches adult Sunday school and Harvest Baptist Bible College classes and is on the administrative council for Harvest Baptist Bible College.

Pastor Jared Baldwin

Pastor Jared Baldwin returned to the island of Guam during the summer of 2011 after ministering for two years in New Hampshire. Pastor Jared will be helping to oversee the Harvest House ministry to Guam's foster families, coordinating Harvest's efforts on behalf of missionaries around the world, as well as ministering to the students of Harvest Christian Academy as the coach of the cross country team. Pastor Jared and his wife Tammy have three children--Kayla, Andrew, and Zachary.

Pastor Kevin Inafuku

Kevin Inafuku, Minister of Music at Harvest Baptist Church, graduated from Bob Jones University in 2000 with a degree in Church Music. Following his graduation he struggled with whether God would call him back to Hawaii where he was born and raised, but God directed his steps to travel with the Steve Pettit Evangelistic Team. Traveling from 2000-2003, Kevin was able to direct the team’s music and run the children’s meetings each night. God, through His sovereignty, allowed Kevin to meet Pastor Marty Herron, who is a very good friend of Steve Pettit. Kevin was able to visit Guam right after Super Typhoon Pongsona and was convinced God was leading him there.  The islands have always been in his heart, and Harvest Ministries resonated with his passion to know God and to help others know Him. After seven years of service leading the worship ministry at Harvest, Kevin married Misty Herron, daughter of Pastor and Mrs. Herron. Misty graduated from Northland International University and, as the mother of two little girls, works part-time in the Harvest office. Together, Kevin and Misty have a huge desire to serve God in the islands and to help the people of Guam develop a heart for God.

Mr. Aaron Scott

20130810-PastorsAdmin-132Mr. Aaron Scott was born and raised in Denver, Colorado under the ministry of Woodside Baptist Church. Aaron felt God’s call on his life for ministry when he was in elementary school. Throughout his junior high and high school years, God implanted in Aaron’s heart a passion to see young men and women develop a heart for God. He attended Northland International University (NIU), where he played the sports of soccer and wrestling, and where he received his BA in Biblical Studies. He is currently finishing up his MA through the NIU Graduate School. Aaron and Elizabeth Tann were married in December and are now serving the Lord together at Harvest.

Mr. Bryan Lenartz

Bryan was raised in Waukesha, Wisconsin, just outside of Milwaukee. Growing up, he had never heard the Gospel, and it was not until he was fifteen that he first heard the truth. While coming home from his little brother’s baptism at a Catholic Church, Bryan’s brother-in-law, David, shared with him how to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Soon after, Bryan accepted the Lord as his Savior. He was discipled by John Zimmer, who currently serves as a missionary on the Island of Palau. Bryan met his wife Amy while serving in Guam, and the two were married in 2010. They are the parents of two girls. Bryan and Amy help lead the children's ministries of Harvest Baptist Church both on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Throughout the week, Bryan works with the students of Harvest Christian Academy in Life Skills classes while Amy works in the school nurse's office and in the community as a physician's assistant.

Mr. Joaquin Pena

Joaquin was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in 1980. After completing high school, he worked in a bank for 3 years before the Lord opened up a door to attend Northland International University. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Youth Ministries and returned to the Dominican Republic to minister to the youth and college students in his home church. He married Megan Herron in 2007, and they stayed in Guam for 3 months before returning back to Dominican Republic for one more year. They have two daughters and one baby on the way. He has been at Harvest Ministries since August of 2008, working with the students in the college and academy. During this time, he has received his Master of Ministry degree. In the summers, he works with the Pacific Rim Christian Camp and desires for the staff as well as the campers to develop a heart for God.
