Our prayers go out to the people of Japan as they recover from the destruction caused by the earthquake and tsunami that hit their country on March 11, 2011. We have started the Japanese Relief Fund in an effort to come alongside the churches ministering to the people in the disaster areas. We invite you to take a minute to watch the video below which has been produced by Or Productions and highlights the current efforts of those we are supporting.
Our desire is to follow the example of the early church in the book of Acts in which “…every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judea.” (Acts 11:29) We also look to the words of Christ in which told us His perspective on giving to those in need when He said, “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” (Matthew 25:40) We see the great needs of the Japanese people, and we want to reach out to them in any way we can.
We ask that you would consider what part you can have in these relief efforts. Every donation, no matter the amount, will expand the abilities to provide for the physical necessities of the people, as the local churches reach out to provide for the spiritual necessities.
