Our Purpose
Harvest Baptist Bible College/Institute exists to glorify God by training students to develop a heart for God through a three-year Bible training institute program designed to prepare future ministers and trained laymen for the local church work.
Emphasizing the diligent study of Scripture classes and chapels aim to change the beliefs of the students. Changed belief is the tool God uses to also change behavior. This “sound doctrine” (II Timothy 4:3) of God’s truth is intended to result in sound or spiritually healthy living.
For a student to come to HBBC/I, he/she must have a testimony of Salvation. He/She must also be recommended by a local pastor/missionary. In this way, HBBI is working together with the missionary and/or local pastor to produce Sunday School teachers and other church workers to reach those Harvest Baptist Church would not be able to reach.
The training consists of Bible, education and practical courses designed especially for these young people. After an initial assessment in English (the common language of the islanders beside their mother language), the students start on a process that would enable them to achieve an Associate’s Degree (AA). After a student achieves the AA degree, the next plateau of training would involve specialized education that would ultimately lead to a BA degree and/or a certificate of higher training in Harvest Baptist Bible College. At the present time, several courses are being offered as steps towards working with U.S. based colleges are being developed.
