School let out on Wednesday at Harvest Christian Academy but the students and parents were more than happy to return for one more event on Thursday evening. The final awards program for the 7th-12th graders saw many students being rewarded for Perfect Attendance, Honor Roll, and Citizenship. Sports and Fine Arts awards were also given out while some students even received Bible Character and Outstanding Student awards. No matter what the age, each student was thrilled to hear their name called while parents looked on with pride and thankfulness at the conclusion of a great year of education.

Graduation week got under way on Monday evening with family and friends packing the auditorium to enjoy watching the kindergarten students of Harvest Christian Academy share what they have learned this year during a fun program. After the program, each student received special recognition as they marched across the platform to the cheers of loved ones. Afterwards, students enjoyed gifts and refreshments with family members and fellow students in the Family Life Center. First grade…here they come!

Harvest Baptist Church celebrated Mother’s Day on Sunday morning with music from the littlest children in the nursery as well as families singing together, special gifts for all moms in attendance, and a message from Pastor F. G. Homsher on a “Miracle Mom.”

Ladies of all ages had a splashin’ good time on Friday night at the Mother/Daughter Splash at Tarza Water park! Almost 300 ladies and girls enjoyed a fun-filled evening together. Mothers with daughters attended, as well as teachers with students, and of course, lots of friends with friends. Throughout the evening, ladies and girls were seen going down numerous water slides, floating endlessly around the lazy river, testing their skill again and again at the wave machine, and just relaxing and talking in the restaurant area. In the middle of the night, the ladies gathered for a short meeting time together. Melody Homsher shared a “year in review” and summarized each of the ladies’ events this year and how the Lord has worked through them. Ladies also had the opportunity to win exciting door prizes with categories like, “Which mother and daughter share the closest birthdays?” and “Who is wearing the most neon green tonight?” This event truly was a spectacular way to get refreshed in the busy month of May!

The AWANA Clubs of Harvest Baptist Church closed out the year on Wednesday evening by awarding clubbers for a job well done! From the littlest Puggles to the Cubbies, Sparks and T and T clubs, young people quoted Bible verses and received recognition for the various books of Bible verses they had memorized over the many Wednesday night AWANA clubs during the past year. At the end of the evening, John and Ana Aguon were honored for their dedication and service as AWANA Commander for many years.

The 8th grade speech class of Harvest Christian Academy performed during a special assembly on Tuesday, May 8th. Under the direction of Mrs. Pam Fox, the students have been learning how to present a small play and working to bring it all together before the end of school year. Students were able to work on lighting and sound, costumes and props, and of course, acting and putting into practice what they had been learning in speech class all year long. After practicing on an empty stage for the past few weeks, performing in front of other students and family and friends was a great learning experience for these students at HCA.

In just a few days, the Senior class of Harvest Baptist Bible Institute will receive their diplomas and close out their time as a student at HBBC. Looking back on their college career and looking forward to what God has for them, the students enjoyed spending the weekend together during their Senior trip. This year’s trip only traveled a few miles to places like Tumon and Yona to enjoy activities like bowling, sightseeing, and walking underneath the ocean but the time was enjoyed by all and was a great way to bring their college careers to a close.

A journey that began nine months ago for hundreds of students at Harvest Christian Academy is coming to an end this week. Months and months of learning and hard work are being rewarded this week during a number of Awards Chapels every morning at HCA. It began with the littlest students K3 and K4 and will continue all this week for students up to sixth grade. The Jr. High and Sr. High students will be rewarded for their hard work on Thursday evening, May 17th. Congratulations to al the students, teachers, and parents on a successful year of learning at Harvest Christian Academy.
