The Promised Redeemer
Harvest Baptist Church and many invited guests from the community filled the Family Life Center on Sunday evening to witness the Christmas story during this year’s Christmas cantata on Sunday evening, December 13th. The FLC was transformed for the event and shortly after 7pm barely an empty seat remained as the choir and orchestra began the evening singing “A Canticle of Joy.” Then Lawrence Nagengast narrated the story of God’s promises throughout history of the coming Messiah. As Lawrence retold the story and the choir and orchestra provided majestic music, students from Harvest Baptist Bible College and Institute brought each of the scenes to life on stage. This year’s cantata was directed by music minister Kevin Inafuku and Mary Geiman helped direct the dramatic elements. While those in attendance enjoyed the drama and music, what was most important is that they heard the truth of the real promise and meaning of Christmas-the birth of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
