An Elegant Evening in the Harvest Cafe
The Fellowship Hall of the Family Life Center was transformed into a European cafe during the Ladies Fellowship Kickoff on Tuesday night at Harvest. The entire night’s theme of “Service” began at the door as guests were greeted by a hostess and then escorted to their tables by a server. Mrs. Herron opened the evening in prayer and then the ladies enjoyed a fun mixer game using the acrostic “Making a Difference” where each letter had to match a different person’s name in attendance. This proved to be a great way for everyone to meet one another. Pam Fox then shared the example of Dorcas from Acts 9:36-42 and her life of service–how she was loved by friends and widows. A brief time of announcements was followed by a delicious meal. A number of ladies provided service during the meal by taking orders and then serving a variety of foods and desserts to each table. Also, while the ladies enjoyed their time of refreshment, Carrie Callahan and Sara McGrew provided live music while photos of European locations were shown on the wall to help complete the evening’s “Harvest Cafe” theme. Everyone had an enjoyable time shown by the fact that no one seemed to want to go home. Fortunately, a number of Ladies Fellowship activities are scheduled to take place throughout the upcoming year including the Island Prayer Night on October 13th.
